The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department at UAA provides graduate instruction in Career and Technical Education. a.ka. Vocational Education. The program offers a MS Vocational Education for students interested in CTE as well a support to many statewide efforts to promote the importance of career and technical education for Alaskans that would like to pursue Alaskan Jobs. People involved in career and technical education realize that workforce development is the same as economic development - and that career and technical education is a critical path for meaningful and relevant academic education. The foundation of our program is in Contextual Teaching and Learning. Please take the time to learn more about this philosophy that we believe is the pathway towards higher achievement of all Alaska youth in school.
